Pizmonim- New Jersey Jewish Music presents vocalist & takht, including an oud player. The oudist is Kinan Idnawi, a Syrian musician, best known in the U.S. for playing with the Al-Bustan Ensemble in Philly. Great opportunity to hear him do his stuff!

an oudist at Mannes Guitar Seminar

The opening concert for the Mannes Guitar Seminar 2013 will be at the Americas Society, 680 Park Ave. at 68th St.  http://www.as-coa.org/events/2013-new-york-guitar-seminar-mannes

It will feature Carlo Valte on the oud with Francisco Roldan, guitar, and Rex Benincasa, percussion. They will play a transcription of a  Marcel Khalife piece.

The opening night concert also includes the guitarists: Zara Meneses and Carlos Barbosa-Lima. 7 p.m. July 9, Tuesday.
